2008 Cotton Stakes Classic --- April 25 - May 4, 2008

1. Cotton Stakes Classic is open to all (4 yr old) horses. A contestant may ride unlimited horses in the Open division. A Non Pro may ride unlimited horses in the Non Pro division. $100,000 will be prorated between the 4 year Open and Non Pro entries.

2. Cotton Stakes Classic is open to all 5 and 6 year old horses. A contestant may ride unlimited 5 year old horses and unlimited 6 year old horses in the Open division. A Non Pro may ride unlimited 5 year old horses and unlimited 6 year old horses in the Non Pro division. $100,000 will be prorated between 5/6 year old Open and 5/6 year old Non Pro entries.

3. There will be a $150 advancement fee deducted for each horse advancing to the finals of the 4 year old Open and Non Pro and 5/6 year old Open and Non Pro divisions. The 4 and 5/6 year old Open and Non Pro will consist of 2 go-rounds. 60% of the horses from the 1st go round will advance to the 2nd go round. Combined scores from the 1st and 2nd go round will determine the 25% of horses that will advance to the finals. (25% of finals will be based on the total number of horses entered in each class with a maximum of 25 horses and ties.) 100% of the purse (less advancement fee) will pay in the finals. All horses advancing to finals will receive finals check.

4. Entry fee for the 4 year old Open and Non Pro and 5/6 year old Open and Non Pro will be total of $1995 for each division. $1100 will be jackpot, $530 cattle charge and $365 office charge.

5. There will be a $100,000 Ltd. Rider Open and Non Pro in the 4 year old and in the 5/6 year old classes, as a class within a class. There will be a non working finals. Entry Fee $500 ($450 jackpot, $50 office charge).

6. 4 year ($50,000 Amateur) open to all four (4 year old) horses that are shown by a rider qualifying under the $50,000 Amateur rules of the NCHA. There will be $5,000 added. Riders may ride 2 horses.

7. 5/6 ($50,000 Amateur), open to all 5/6 year old horses that are shown by a rider qualifying under the $50,000 Amateur rules of the NCHA. There will be $5000 added. Riders may ride two 5 year old horses and two 6 year old horses.

8. The 4 year old Amateur and 5/6 year Amateur will have one go round and a finals. The top 25% of horses from the go round will advance to the finals in each division. If there are fewer than 20 horses there will only be one go round held and the top 25% of horses will receive payback according to the go round score. If there are more than 20 horses entered a finals will be held and the top 25% of the horses from the go round will advance to the finals. 100% of the purse will be paid in the finals. There is a $100 advancement fee in the finals of the 4 and 5/6 year old Amateur finals. All horses advancing to the finals will receive a finals check. Entry fee will be $800 ($400 jackpot and $400 office).

9. Stall fee is $125 for prebedded stalls. Stall fee is due with final payment.

10. Entry forms must be filled out and completed with owner’s Social Security number; the entrant must sign the entry form.

11. Entries will close on April 18, 2008, but if the class is not full will accept entries until the date that the draw will be made.

12. Judges. The five judge adjusted monitoring system will be used.

13. All NCHA rules apply under Limited Aged Event rules.

14. The Cotton Stakes Classic, LLC, reserves the right to accept or reject any entry. All decisions of show management are final. The Cotton Stakes Classic, LLC, reserves the right to cancel, transfer or reschedule the show without notice and/or liability. In the event of cancellation all fees will be returned.
