- - - 2011 COTTON STAKES CLASSIC RULES AND REGULATIONS - - -

  1. Cotton Stakes Classic is open to all (3 yr old) horses. A contestant may ride unlimited horses in the Open division. A Non Pro may ride unlimited horses in the Non Pro division. $31,000 will be prorated between the 3 year Open and Non Pro entries.
  2. Cotton Stakes Classic is open to all (4 yr old) horses. A contestant may ride unlimited horses in the Open division. A Non Pro may ride unlimited horses in the Non Pro division. $31,000 will be prorated between the 4 year Open and Non Pro entries.
  3. Cotton Stakes Classic is open to all 5 and 6 year old horses. A contestant may ride unlimited 5 year old horses and unlimited 6 year old horses in the Open division. A Non Pro may ride unlimited 5 year old horses and unlimited 6 year old horses in the Non Pro division. $31,000 will be prorated between 5/6 year old Open and 5/6 year old Non Pro entries.
  4. There will be a $100 advancement fee deducted for each horse advancing to the finals of the 3 year old Open and Non Pro, 4 year old Open and Non Pro and 5/6 year old Open and Non Pro divisions. The 3 year old division, 4 year old division and 5/6 year old division will consist of one go round and finals.
  5. Entry fee for the 3 year old Open and Non Pro will be $1200. $600 will be jackpot, $500 cattle charge and $100 office charge.
  6. Entry fee for the 4 year old Open and Non Pro and 5/6 year old Open and Non Pro will be total of $1200 for each division. $600 will be jackpot, $500 will be cattle charge and $100 office charge.
  7. 3 year ($50,000 Amateur), open to all four (3 year old) horses that are shown by a rider qualifying under the $50,000 Amateur rules of the NCHA. The entry fee will be $400, $200 jackpot and $200 cattle charge. One go round only.
  8. 4 year ($50,000 Amateur) open to all 4 year old horses that are shown by a rider qualifying under the $50,000 Amateur rules of the NCHA. There will be $3500 added. The entry fee will be $650. $350 jackpot; $300 cattle charge. There will be one go round and finals. Riders may ride two 4 year old horses.
  9. 5/6 ($50,000 Amateur), open to all 5/6 year old horses that are shown by a rider qualifying under the $50,000 Amateur rules of the NCHA. There will be $3500 added. The entry fee will be $650. $350 jackpot, $300 cattle charge. There will be one go round and finals. Riders may ride two 5 year old horses and two 6 year old horses.
  10. There will be a $200,000 Ltd Open and Non Pro (class within a class) in the 3 year old Open and Non Pro, 4 year old Open and Non Pro and 5/6 year old Open and Non Pro. Entry fee will be $200, $180 jackpot, $20 office charge. There will be non-working finals.
  11. Stall fee is $125. Stall fee is due with final payment.
  12. Entry forms must be filled out and completed with owner’s Social Security number; the entrant must sign the entry form.
  13. Entries will close on August 29, 2011, but if the class is not full will accept entries until the date that the draw will be made.
  14. Judges. The five judge adjusted monitoring system will be used.
  15. All NCHA rules apply under Limited Aged Event rules.
  16. The Cotton Stakes Classic, LLC, reserves the right to accept or reject any entry. All decisions of show management are final. The Cotton Stakes Classic, LLC, reserves the right to cancel, transfer or reschedule the show without notice and/or liability. In the event of cancellation all fees will be returned.

Entries will be accepted after the closing date of entry until the day the draw is made, if the class is not full. (Determination of being full is made by the 150 horse rule of horses judged in one day by NCHA rules.)
